Preparing Digital Images for the Westover Multimedia Ministry

We are asked throughout the year by different ministries, staff, or other individuals at Westover to cover events or produce programs. Many of these, especially mission trips, involve still photos. Still photos are usually provided to us as paper prints, and need to be scanned into digital form. You can help us to do this if you have a scanner.

The people requesting our services sometimes provide digital photos on CD or via email, either taken with a digital camera, or scanned. Optimum image size for digital photos to be used in Adobe Premiere (the video editing software used by the Westover Multimedia Ministry) is 720x480 pixels. Often the image files provided to us are much too large, which can cause problems in Premiere. You can help us to resize the images if you have the appropriate software.

First-time accuracy is greatly increased and editing time greatly reduced if the digital photo files can be numbered and their numbers written into the script. You can name or rename the files as image numbers so the script writer can include the numbers in the script. This helps a lot!

Please contact the Multimedia Ministry about how to help.
