Okay. I'll admit it. I'm a film geek. No. Worse. I'm a FAN. My rule of thumb when critiquing a movie is that as long as I can tell that they *tried* to make a good movie, I can enjoy watching it. I appreciate the effort, which is saying a lot because many movies made today have no passion behind them... ahem... a conversation that's no doubt better had over a bottomless cup of coffee... Here's my top 10 list of movies... you, of course, don't have to agree to my choices. These are in no particular order (and yes, that's cheating but I like them all so nyahh): The
Godfather (1972) | Pulp
Fiction (1994) | All
The President's Men (1976) One Stake for Two LivesI have only been an actor in a movie once in my life a project in elementary school with my best friend Jason Henderson (screenwriter/actor) for our "Talented and Gifted" class. While moving some boxes, I came across the original script, and while it might not look like much, it was our portrayals as Michael and Bran that won hearts and critics over. Heck, it was the sutff from which legends are made. There is talk of a remake. Perhaps soon I will convert that tired VHS recording into a digital reissue and post it here as a Quicktime movie. Until that time, let your imagination visualize the majesty and horror that is One Stake for Two Lives (dum-dum-duuuuuum)! The Austin Film SocietyI've done lots of volunteer work for this great organization. I can't say enough about these guys. The Film Society sponsors events which help support local filmmakers not only financially but by also helping bring them in touch with that hard-to-break-into community of directors, writers, producers, etc. so that they can learn, teach, emote, collaborate or just hang together. Learn more about the film society here. Volunteer! Donations are accepted! Here are some great web sites for all you other movie fans out thereCanned
