Irish McCalla, Sheena
Irish McCalla, glamor girl
|
America's Numero Uno Jungle Queen
Following the death of her parents, young Sheena fell under the tutelage of Koba, a witch doctor.
Instructed in the finer aspects of jungle etiquette and imbued with an undying appreciation for the
natural wildlife, she spent the rest of her career trailing her male, vine-swinging
counterparts.
Former pinup model, Irish McCalla, who adorned such girlie mags as Night & Day and Eve, immortalized
the character from 1956-1957 in 26 television episodes.
Hopelessly typecast after the demise of the series, she appeared
in only 6 films, including Richard Cunha's 1958 cult ditty, She Demons.
For the past 40 years Irish has devoted her life to painting. She has completed over a thousand canvases
and has had work on display in the Los Angeles Museum of Science and Industry.
