Attendance

Plague has struck! Both Chris and Billy are out due to strange European illnesses.

Chuck, feeling healthy, brings Gumbo (now with tentacles!). Ernest brings cinnamon rolls. Bruce provides rice and cornbread. Paul brings a hungry pallet.

The Game

The Characters so far consist of two mortals (Stingray and Stoneman) and two immortals (Archangel and the Sylvan Sentinel).

Stingray (Lewis Ray) is a banker from Kingston, and Stoneman is a construction worker from Lincoln. They fight crime! Stoneman and Stringray have been active Superheroes for 1 and 2 years, respectively, forming a super-powered odd couple.

Stoneman wants to protect the downtrodden and poor people of his neighborhood. Also, he has vague ambitions to save the earth, but no clear idea how to accomplish this. Stingray has terrible nightmares of the dastardly deeds of his misspent youth, and has become a superhero to compensate for his past wrongs. They know each other because Stoneman was involved in Stringray's superhero genesis.

Archangel is cast from the heavenly host to learn humility, and is told to seek out three spirits of Nature. Further, he is to go to St. George's Cathedral and listen to the service for his next instructions.

Stingray is chilling in his apartment, while Darren Stone is relaxing in Liberty Park (Memorial Day weekend). Both see a streak of flame descending into the Park (Ray gets a slightly better view of this than Stone, due to perspective). Stingray pulls down a cloud chariot to move to investigate.

The streak of flame slams into Liberty Park, awakening the Sylvan Sentinel from his not-so-eternal slumber. He emerges from a copse in his wooden splendor. Stone slips off to change into Stoneman form, and thinks that S.S. looks an awful lot like a tree-themed villain, "The Green Man." Civilians flee from the area.

Stoneman forms a body out of local rock and earth, looking like one of the Factor Four, another villain group. More civilians flee.

Another rather muscular looking super shows up, called "Megastar" one of the Next-Gen. A fairly recent super-hero to the city. The civilians are feeling sort of boxed in.

Sting Ray flies in, and sees a blur fast approaching from the East, and goes way to fast for him to intercept.

S.S. boosts himself up with sunlight, alarming the other super heroes (Stoneman and Megastar) in the park. Johnny Rocket zooms in from another direction, and perches above the Public Restroom.

After a brief moment, an instant consensus is reached: The Sylvan Sentinel is evil! Everyone tries to take him out. Of the various superheroes, only Johnny Rocket is able to do any recognizable progress against the sentinal.

The Archangel wakes up, and sees several hominids battling an obvious nature spirit. He attacks the Megastar!

The battle rages, eventually resulting in Sylvan Sentinel getting laid out (he slinks away to recover) and the rest of the superheroes bickering about who is and is not a villain. Johnny Rocket and Megastar prove to be a slightly higher caliber of hero than the player characters (PL 10 vs. PL 8).

Before the conversation can advance very far, the heroes become away of more screeming and the bystanders returning. They are being chased by big mutated hyenas.

Johnny Rocket talks into a comlink, and then announces that the hyenas are everywhere. He runs away, presumably to safety. Megastar does as well.

Sting Ray is the first to notice a humanoid hyena, which may be the cause of the violence. The other characters concentrate on removing Hyenas. Hyena charges Stingray.

By the end of the fight, Sting Ray and Stoneman are out for the count, and Archangel and Sylvan Sentinel stand victorious over Hyena.
