The Suckling Terror
The Suckling Terrors are servants of the Singing Man. They are native to
his terrible half-world, and are only rarely seen in our world. The Singing
Man's worshippers have often embodied links to Suckling Terrors into clay
figurines taken to be fertility totems by many anthropologists. When one
of these figurines is brought into the influence of the Singing Man, the
Suckling Terror linked to it is drawn forth, oozing into existence out of
the figurine, almost like a dread cloud that solidifies into obscene flesh.
A Suckling Terror appears to be a thick, almost limbless fleshy mass that
writhes and flows with horrific sinuousness. It's skin is slick and leatherlike,
unbroken by features save for its terrible rounded mouth. The mouth is
round but mutable, surrounded by rings of powerful muscle that allow it
to grip and cling. Within, a nest of writhing, hoary tentacles can be seen
very faintly.
A Suckling Terror attacks its prey by stalking it, then rushing to envelop
and entrap it in it's fluid bulk. It then fastens it's mouth to it's victim's
body and rasps away the skin and flesh with the tentacles within. By the
time the Suckling Terror is done, there is nothing left but polished bone.
