Title

New Maker Incursions

Description

Demek hordes from Joy-of-Tools led by the general Advocate-for-Purity move against outlying Hegger outposts. Several Skirmisher Cohorts are moved from Hegger to the front lines, and new levies are raised. To pay for the necessary war effort, the Senate levies new taxes upon all residents.

Effect

All characters who do not specifically avoid the new taxes with an Argument must pay at least 50 challock in taxes. After the Resolution Phase, each taxpaying character must submit a concealed paper to the Referee indicating how much tax is to be paid. The character paying the lowest amount is accused of tax evasion, loses 200 challock and gains a Black Strike. Characters using Arguments are not at risk of this fate.

Reason1

The Makers and their demek armies are dangerously aggressive.

Reason2

The borders of Hegger must be defended.

Reason3

The Maker War has already drained Hegger's treasury.

Description

Description

While Yordan is laid up and unable to perform his normal duties, Jelleth has him work as an instructor's aide. Yordan teaches an alchemy class, then helps to sell the products to the public for Jelleth.

Yordan gains several potions and 250 challock in commissions. He is also able to trade the beetle talisman for a more useful item: a poison curative. He also gains three points, spread between Teaching and Alchemy.
