Other Worlds
There are several worlds with connections to Abbatine, but only one about
which any of the characters know great detail.
- Mardaka
- A somewhat grim place. Mardaka is an old, ritual-bound world near
the end of it's life. Mardaka himself, doubtless a militaristic, regimented
curmudgeon in his mortal days, has been trapped by the Spyral, a philosophy
that is also a sentient creature, and the disloyalty of his closest advisors.
- Padachee
- Apparently a pleasant place, inhabited by the linder, the bull-men
and Padachee's own variation on the human form. The linder are effectively
the dominant race of the world, and live in a network of city-states and
trading confederations around the world's central sea.
- Benoth
- A dead world. The goddess Benoth was killed some centuries ago.
The instant she died, all the plants in the world died with her. Nothing
will grow in Benoth now, regardless of the measures taken. The world itself
is gradually being reclaimed by the Maelstrom. Benoth still has Bridges
to several other worlds, including Mardaka (but not including Abbatine).
Societies in Mardaka use the Benoth Bridge as a way to exile undesirables.
Those folk who live in Benoth tend to be either hopeless exiles or opportunists
living off travelers who use Benoth as a route.
- Dost
- A world with a Bridge leading to Abbatine's Second Plateau. All that
is reliably known about Dost is that it has a Bridge that leads in turn
to Sa Opedi.
- Sa Opedi
- A large and ornate world with several human and human-like Created
races. Two of the current characters are from Sa Opedi, but one is amnesiac
and doesn't remember any details, while the other is hunted and isn't mentioning
any.
- Shildree
- The native world of the exiles living in the city of Kashaad. Not
much is known about Shildree, save that it's Created races include a human
race with slate blue skin and hooked lips.
