Tim (Laerynthe), Chris (Pawnbroker), Nick (Mungo) all show up. In addition, Russel shows up and creates a new character: Ku.
Ku is a blue from Shildree. He was once a forester, who was forced to flee Shildree after he accidentally slew an Elder. He has spent two seasons in Paiden, working as a messenger for several of the Families. In the process he worked a bit with the adapoi (gaining a half-point in the Adapoi language). When the Holy City Folk arrived around Paiden, he managed to gain a job as a guard on a Faiai plantation. After Prince Tonnalk's army overran the plantation, he fled and met Laerynthe and his group of Living Weapons. He has managed to equip himself with scale armor, a small shield, a broadsword and a crossbow.
Ku arrives at the burned-out plantation and introduces him to the rest of the characters (save for Laerynthe, who already knew him). Mungo gives him the magical blade the characters were given by Fesh (index 65).
The characters locate an ambush site in a dry creek bed. They prepare a campsite, and set up an array of stake traps and blinds. Everyone spends one day making stakes to prepare the traps (making a total of 500 of the things).
The characters use Nop as the decoy, sending him out to find one of the fire-spirits Prince Tonnalk's army use as scouts. He returns after two or three hours, and hides in the dummy campsite the characters prepared until the scout spirit leaves.
The characters set up with Brakan atop the cliff to use Explosive Fireball; Pawnbroker and 10 Living Weapons to the rear; Ku and five Living Weapons with Invisibility hidden near the camp; and Laerynthe in a foxhole on the cliff with his crossbow.
A force from Prince Tonnalk's army shows up after several hours, numbering one priest, six archers, one shield-man, two huntsmen, two crocodile-heads, one bat-folk scout, and several hunting breels. The characters pepper them with crossbow bolts, wounding one crocodile-head and slaying several archers until the priest uses Reverse Missiles to grievously wound Laerynthe and Mystic Mist to protect his troops.
By the end of the fight, all of the troops have been slain except the one bat-folk scout. Among the characters, two Living Weapons were slain by the crocodile-folk, and two more were injured (but healed by magic).
Each of the characters gain three experience points.
