Tier II Technician | Austin, TX or Raleigh, NC

Overview:

The primary function of the Tier II Support Technician is to provide technical support of OnRamp’s managed environments including supporting networks, applications, and databases. With proven experience in Windows and Linux operating systems, Network, server class equipment, and virtualized environments individuals of this role are expected to work with minimal supervision while providing customer support. Tier II Support Technicians are expected to research issues and attempt to resolve these issues and document trouble tickets prior to escalating to Tier III support. Tier II Support Technicians will have additional shift leadership responsibilities and is the primary technical resource for Tier I Support Technicians. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for OnRamp customers, which may include providing assistance with network configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate communication of issue status and resolution to the customer and accurately and professionally document all communication with the customer
  • Monitor the datacenter and network and report problems to customers and engineering staff
  • Perform Firewall builds/configurations/port changes, configuration/expansion of SAN storage, configuration of vCenter, managing maintenance windows (including writing of maintenance plans for hardware maintenance to be performed by Tier I), installation/configuration of OnRamp software/agents, applying customer patches, configuration/ troubleshooting of backup jobs, and other technical work
  • Assist with training of Tier I Technicians
  • Provide technical support for Tier I escalations
  • Escalate issues to Tier III Technicians within SLA timeframe, and escalating facilities issues to the Facilities Manager
  • Engage Tier I Technicians for additional support and closing tickets residing in both the Tier I and Tier II Technician queues within the ticketing system
  • Provide Quality Assurance on Tier1 work (firewall, OS installs, cable runs, etc.)

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of technical support experience in one of the following areas and familiarity in all others:
    • TCP/IP Internetworking
    • Telecommunications troubleshooting
    • Technical support for Microsoft Servers and Clients
    • Technical support for Microsoft applications including Exchange, SQL Server, etc.
    • Technical support for Linux operating systems for servers
    • HP, Cisco, and Dell hardware configuration and maintenance

Overview:

OnRamp’s Tier I Datacenter Technician is responsible for assisting customers that require technical assistance with Microsoft or Linux servers, monitoring the operation of the data center, and controlling physical access to the data center. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for answering customer inquiries in person, on the phone and electronically
  • Monitor data center and network and report problems to customers and network engineering staff in a timely manner
  • Manage physical security of the data center authentication/authorization of guests and visitors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Network Engineers or management team
  • For customer satisfaction, the candidate will be expected to provide timely and accurate communication of issue status and resolution to the customer
  • Accurately and professionally document all communication with the customer
  • Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of technical support experience with:

Channel Acquisition Manager – Austin, TX

 

Overview:

The Channel Acquisition Manager (CAM) is an integral member of the Channel Sales team, focused primarily on signing up new, productive partners to the OnRamp Channel Partner Program. The Channel Acquisition Manager’s efforts will be concentrated both within his/her own professional network and beyond in out-bounding to net new logos to drive awareness of OnRamp, build the OnRamp Brand, and recruit new partners. It is therefore important that the CAM have several years of industry experience that enable his/her efforts to be built off a base of a solid network of potential partners. The CAM will also work closely with Channel Marketing in utilizing OnRamp’s marketing investments, programs, and resources to drive new partner interest.

This position reports to the Sr. Director, Channel Sales.

Responsibilities:

The Channel Acquisition Manager’s responsibilities all revolve around the recruiting and signing up of new partners to the OnRamp Channel program. The CAM will be responsible for the addition of a certain number of new, qualified partners each month. As such, the CAM is in charge of managing the “sales cycle” of bringing each new partner onboard, from sourcing new potential partners – whether that be through his/her own network, outbounding, or OnRamp Channel Marketing activities, to building the relationship – and if necessary enlisting the right folks within OnRamp Sales management for help, to closing that partner and getting them to join – including working through the details of the Partner Agreement, and other important logistics. While the Channel Acquisition Manager is not responsible for quoting opportunities or closing deals, a significant component of this role will be “selling” OnRamp and its partner program: positioning OnRamp; positioning the benefits of OnRamp’s partner program; positioning OnRamp vs. the competition; and getting these potential partners excited to join the program, and more importantly, recommend OnRamp to their customers.

More specific responsibilities include:

  • Build a detailed understanding of the universe of potential partners and prioritize the types of partners to target
  • Source new qualified channel partners from out-bounding and your professional network
    • Build targeted lists of potential partners
    • Conduct regular outbound outreach through multiple forms – phone, email, in-person, OnRamp channel marketing, etc.
    • Build relationships with key members of potential partner company organizations
    • Work with sales leadership at OnRamp to drive key partner discussions
    • Screen out potential partners who may not be likely to become productive partners
    • Sell potential partners on OnRamp and the benefits of its partner program
  • Work with Channel Marketing to drive interest in the OnRamp Channel Partner Program
    • Build targeted outreach campaigns and Channel partner program materials
    • Attend tradeshows and other events where networking and relationship-building take place
    • Develop and coordinate smaller group events and gatherings (e.g. lunch and learns) within specific geographies
  • Work with Channel Sales Managers to drive partner acquisition within specific territories
  • Help facilitate the partner sign up progress
    • Facilitate the review and (if necessary) negotiation of Partner agreements
    • Manage the update of our systems and data (making sure we have all required information, and SFDC is properly updated)
  • Hand-off the relationship to the Partner Success Manager for Onboarding/Training
    • Ensure that all the required steps are taken (usually by other members of the OnRamp channel team) so that the partner is enabled to promote OnRamp to their customers

Head of Information Security – Austin, TX

Overview:

The primary function of the Head of Information Security is to reduce security risk by implementing, supporting, and maintaining security programs, initiatives, processes, and best practices to build a safe and secure environment for our company and our customers. This hands-on, operational security position will be responsible for overseeing IT security at OnRamp.

This position reports to the President.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains company policies and procedures to ensure execution of security strategies
  • Performs and updates organizational risk assessments on regular basis
  • Conducts various penetration and intrusion-detection testing, including reporting of vulnerabilities and drives mitigation and remediation of findings
  • Functions as primary technical administrator for security infrastructure tools and systems
  • Performs daily monitoring and troubleshooting of security incidents
  • Communicates updates to internal stakeholders and key partners on incidents, emerging risks, and other issues that may impact data center operations, customers, or vendors
  • Presents a Security Report to the management team on a regular basis
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of attacks or emergent threats
  • Assists in development and education of security topics, including delivering training
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of relevant technical experience
  • 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer
  • CISSP® certification preferred
  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of:
  • VMware, certification preferred
  • Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and next-generation firewalls
  • Managing technical templates (standard firewall configurations, switching and routing configurations, SIEM configurations)
  • Experience in security process development
  • Ability to collaborate and build cross-functional relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers

Product Manager – Austin, TX

Overview:

The Product Manager is a key voice in deciding which new products to test and develop, and serves as the market expert by gathering requirements to drive product development task prioritization and ensuring product work supports the company’s overall strategy and growth goals. The Product Manager will join a newly created and dedicated product team of technical subject matter experts comprised of Engineers and Developers and led by our VP of Product Development.

The Product Manager drives the day to day efforts to develop and evolve OnRamp’s products and services. He or she is responsible for the entire product lifecycle, and is responsible for the prioritization of all product development work with the product development team, working closely with them to ensure requirements and stories are well understood and that what is built in each development iteration is what will best meet the needs of the market.

The role is at the confluence of a number of different functions within OnRamp including marketing, sales, engineering, and operations. The Product Manager provides oversight for the entire product launch process. To be successful, the candidate must have the ability to rally people together, across different teams, to get the job done. Key to success in accomplishing this will be excellent communication skills and leadership capabilities through influence, reasoning, and effectively sharing the vision and value proposition He or she will contribute to building and updating the product roadmap, working closely with the VP of Product Development as well as the entire senior management team.

This is an opportunity for a thought leader to shape the entire product function at OnRamp, as well as the company’s differentiation and value proposition in the market. As such, an experienced, visionary and thoughtful leader with industry experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  1. PROJECT MANAGEMENT / ROADMAP EXECUTION
    1. Project Management
      • Understand the market and customer needs deeply. Be responsible for building products, services and capabilities that will enable OnRamp to succeed and differentiate in the competitive hosting industry
      • Own the process of establishing what high level features should go into each product or service, for approval by the VP of Product Development
      • Research competitors’ products, assess competitive advantages, seek input from key stakeholders, and determine what product features and functionality will be built
      • Own the day to day delivery of new products and services as outlined in the Product Roadmap
        • Identify new features or changes in features, gather feedback from stakeholders, and oversee the agreement on “definition of done”, including documentation, testing and QE, and other critical tasks
        • Own the prioritization and definitions of stories in the product development backlog
        • Lead groups of the necessary resources outside of the product development team as needed; hold them accountable to specific timelines and deliverables; ensure larger decisions are reviewed by appropriate leadership
      • Track product performance, conduct market research, and recommended changes to the product, the marketing plan, or the overall product objective
      • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
    2. Operations & Support
      • Work with the Chief Architect and the engineering team to make sure technologies are evaluated, POCs happen, and deadlines for doing so are met. Help re-prioritize efforts mid-stream, if need be.
      • Identify new feature or changes in features, or gather engineering team feedback, as the testing process is completed.
      • Track product performance, conduct market research, and recommended changes to the product, the marketing plan, or the overall product objective.
      • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
    3. Marketing
      • Collaborate with Operations leadership to establish the operational processes, systems, monitoring, SLAs Ops training, documentation, and any other requirements of delivering the product or service on a day to day basis.
      • Work closely with Operations and Support team to ensure that their requirements are met to allow for High Uptime (Availability) and excellent customer experience.
    4. Sales
      • Work with Marketing leadership to ensure that the materials and go-to-market strategy for each new product launched are delivered in a timely fashion.
      • Participate in the development and delivery of webinars, customer presentations, and tradeshow speaking engagements.
      • Be the technical resource for the development of web content and marketing collateral.
      • Work with finance to ensure that pricing is delivered in a timely fashion.
      • Ensure Senior Leadership buy-in for product position & go-to-market strategy.
  2. MARKET KNOWLEDGE / STRATEGY
    • Become a key “go-to” person within the organization for where market opportunities exist and what our competitors are doing to address them
    • Work with the Chief Architect to understand the impact of new technologies and technology trends
    • Develop business cases for new offerings, research and create market and product positioning documents, prioritizing features with the corresponding justification
    • Establish and maintain relationships with technical vendors who contribute to the development of OnRamp’s products, services, and capabilities
  3. STANDARDIZATION OF EXISTING PRODUCTS / SERVICES
    • Define and categorize existing products to simplify customer understanding of current products
    • Identify standard pricing options for existing products when applicable
    • Identify products to decommission and work with sales and operations to decommission those products

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of product management experience in data center services, managed hosting, cloud computing or a closely related technology industry
  • Experience in strategic facilitation with a proven ability to tactically and tactfully execute
  • Proven experience applying technical and industry expertise to develop solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills (phone, email, face-to-face) with the ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
